From third-party to in-house: developing our own App
We aimed to transition from third-party ticketing solutions to developing a custom in-house app tailored specifically to Dice's needs.
This shift gave us greater control over the entire process and enabled faster updates.
Launching an MVP app for box office sales
The project began with the creation of an (MVP) for on-site ticket sales, enabling event organisers to sell tickets directly in the queue. This approach helped reduce wait times and provided greater flexibility for both organisers and attendees, ensuring a smoother entry process. We also developed the app on tablet.
Research-driven innovation: Building a new ticket scanning system
Informed by extensive research, including interviews with venue staff and event organisers, we developed a new ticket scanning system aimed at improving speed, accuracy, and reliability. By creating detailed user personas, we ensured that the solution addressed the real-world needs of those using the system.
This approach ensures smoother check-ins and enhances decision-making during events, ultimately improving the overall attendee experience.
Designing a seamless user experience
A key focus of the project was designing an intuitive, user-friendly interface that aligned with Dice’s brand. The goal was to create a seamless experience for both event organisers and attendees, ensuring the app felt natural and easy to use, even for first-time users. Every design element was crafted to minimise friction and optimise efficiency, with the design system based on Dice's B2C product.

Integrating with the CMS platform for streamlined operations
The app integrates with Dice’s existing CMS platform, creating a unified system for managing ticket sales, venue capacity, and real-time event data. This integration streamlines operations, allowing organisers to efficiently manage all aspects of the event in real time while enhancing the experience for both organisers and attendees.
